Wonderful Sunrise this morning out of the kitchen window, beautiful sky, THEN we had cold snow, but by teatime all gone. Snow forcast for the night Daffs and Bluebells are poking through, cannot wait for the Spring.

Although the flooding is not so serious as other villages in North Devon we have had some properties that have had ground floor flood damage.Even though we are 700 feet above sea level Exmoor is saturated. One farm I know has had a barn flooded and livestock has had to be moved. The A399 was flooded from the fields on Exmoor causing problems for some properties. The river that runs along the side of the road from Bratton Fleming to Barnstaple has broken its bank and the torrent of water and debris from fallen trees caused a bridge to collapse.

Verity has arrived in Ilfracombe !!!!!! Some people love her others not so sure. Here in North Devon there are mixed opinions, some people call her' The Slapper of the South' or the 'Broad with the Sword' Whatever your opinion come and see the solid bronze statue called 'Verity'. Stay in your own luxury apartment at ' Bratton View ' Bed & Breakfast for £38 per person per night. The Rut on Exmoor has begun and the sunsets are particulary good at the moment.

The Rutting season will soon be here and I can't wait to go on the Moor just before dusk to see/hear the stags bolving ( Devon's name for roaring) at each other. Hope to get some good photos.

The purple heather is beginning to flower on Exmoor. I am waiting for a good sunny day to take some pictures. The rut will begin soon as well so Exmoor will soon be buzzing with life...WATCH THIS SPACE.
