Although the flooding is not so serious as other villages in North Devon we have had some properties that have had ground floor flood damage.Even though we are 700 feet above sea level Exmoor is saturated. One farm I know has had a barn flooded and livestock has had to be moved. The A399 was flooded from the fields on Exmoor causing problems for some properties. The river that runs along the side of the road from Bratton Fleming to Barnstaple has broken its bank and the torrent of water and debris from fallen trees caused a bridge to collapse. |
